Summary
Project managers and project management practitioners use Rational Unified Process (RUP). This course series provides an introduction to the RUP process and how to apply it in their organization.
The course “Rational Unified Process” allows students to claim 18 PDUs once they have completed their study. The course includes 7 Course Modules as delineated below.
Course Module 1: Understanding the RUP
Duration: 3 hours
Learning Objective: Learn what is the RUP, the motivation behinds its applications and the underlying development principles behind the RUP and also how to work together as one team.
Course Module 2: Inception and Elaboration Phases
Duration: 2 hours
Learning Objective: Learn what are the first two phases of the RUP - Inception and Elaboration - and how to understand them, produce a vision document, explain the objectives and also design critical use cases for a project.
Course Module 3: Construction and Transition Phases
Duration: 3 hours
Learning Objective: Learn what are the last two phases of the RUP - Construction and Transition - and how to explain objectives of Construction and Transition phases and finalize stakeholder approval.
Course Module 4: Adopting the RUP
Duration: 2 hours
Learning Objective: Learn how to configure RUP to meet specific needs and also the strategies for implementing the RUP in an organization.
Course Module 5: Planning an Iterative Project
Duration: 3 hours
Learning Objective: Learn how to move from a waterfall approach to iterative development and also how to avoid mistakes when adopting the RUP.
Course Module 6: RUP for Project Managers, Analysts, and Architects
Duration: 2 hours
Learning Objective: Learn how to explain the mission and the activities of an RUP project manager, analysts and architects (three crucial software development roles) and also develop use case model.
Course Module 7: RUP for Developers and Testers
Duration: 3 hours
Learning Objective: Learn how to explain the mission and the activities of an RUP developers and testers (two crucial software development roles) and also develop best practices and integrate work with other developers. |
